BRIEF DESCRIPTION

 

Oman in Focus is a project that aspires to broaden international photographers’ spectrum of knowledge of Oman by touring them to different landmarks, giving them the chance to experience and witness life here in Oman with its beauty and richness. This tour cannot be done without the leading of a professional guide to give the participants sufficient knowledge of Oman’s history and tradition and showing the beauty of our country.

 

At the end of the tour, an exhibition will be held upon Special invitations to VIPs at The Royal Opera of Muscat with the coverage of National and International Media. After that, the exhibition will be open to the public for 10 Days at the Opera Galleria.

 

In Return, Every Photographer, after going back to his/her country will participate in spreading his experience and his pictures about Oman through an exhibition.

 

 

PROJECT' CALENDAR TOUR, LOCATIONS & PARTICIPATION

 

 

As Oman in Focus will promote awareness of the beauty of Oman and a profound understanding of the Omani culture in a comprehensive scale, on the last day of the tour, each participant will showcase three of their favorite photographs from the tour through an exhibition held at ROYAL OPERA HOUSE in Muscat.

 

This exhibition will allow photographers from different countries to showcase their work here in Oman as a means of self-expression and to serve as an inspiration to young aspiring photographers of Oman. It will also be an opportunity for these photographers to present their talents to the people of Oman and to showcase the Omani richness of beauty and culture the rest of the world, in a very professional eye.

 

It will also open a wide opportunity to the world to discover the undiscovered beauty and richness of this country in the eye of their photographers and listen to the story of each picture throughout their experience in the country. (We are seeking to participate Oman embassies around the world to help Oman In Focus exhibition happens abroad, in each country of the photographers.

 

 

 

TIMELINE / End of March – April 9th 2014

 

From 28 March to 9th of April, 2014

 

• Day 1 & Day 2: Arrival of Photographers & Orientation. Opening Press Conference with the presence of all local Media in Oman.

• Day 3-9: 7 days of Tour / covering minimum 5 provinces

• Day 10 & 11: Preparation for the exhibition Arrival of International Media and International VIPs

• Day 12: Exhibition upon Private Invitations at the outside patio of Royal Opera House (with the Presence of All Media and VIPs)

We are working on 14 Professional Photographers (Men and women) from around the world where we will try to cover all the continents as much as we can, in additional to the photographer Maisa Al Hooti who will lead the Tour and takes her own pictures with the assistance of the photographer Georges Eid from Lebanon.
